This timeline web page is for first-year and transfer applicants.
Graduate Applicants
If you will be applying as a graduate student, please review the Graduate I Want to Apply web page. If you are a graduate applicant who will study in the U.S. on an F-1 Visa, review the International Graduate I Want to Apply web page. Deadlines also differ by program, so be sure to review the individual graduate program for details.
Office Closures
Due to campus holidays, this office will be closed on the following dates:
- 2024: January 1, January 15, April 1, May 27, June 19, July 4, September 2, November 11, November 28–29, December 24–27
- 2025: January 1, January 20, March 31, May 26, June 19, July 4, September 1, November 11, November 27–28, December 23–26

Spring 2025
First-year and Transfer Applicants
August 1-31, 2024
Apply online through Cal State Apply.
October 2024
Admission decisions are emailed to students.
November 2024 (Intent to Enroll deadline)
Deadline to submit the following items:
- Intent to Enroll deposit
- Official transcripts
- Test scores
- Housing License Agreement (if applicable)
January 2025
Deadline to submit final official transcripts, including fall 2024 grades.
January 2025
New Student Orientation.
January 21, 2025
Spring classes begin.
Fall 2025
First-year and Transfer Applicants
October 1, 2024
Apply online through Cal State Apply.
December 2024 - March 2, 2025
Apply for financial aid by filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the CA Dream Application for students eligible for AB 540.
January 2025
Transfer applicants update colleges attended and college coursework by completing and submitting the mandatory Academic History Update on the Cal State Apply website.
Spring 2025
Admission decisions are emailed to students and the Housing License Agreement is available.
April 12, 2025
Attend Explore SDSU Admitted Student Day.
May 1, 2025 (Intent to Enroll deadline)
Deadline to submit the following items:
- Intent to Enroll nonrefundable $400 deposit
- Official transcripts
- Test scores
- Housing License Agreement and nonrefundable $375 initial payment (if applicable)
May 2025
First-year and transfer deadline to complete the Student Success Pathway Preference form.
June 30, 2025
Transfer deadline to submit final college transcripts, including spring grades.
July 15, 2025
First-year deadline to submit final official high school and college transcript(s), including spring grades.
Deadline to provide proof of immunizations and complete the Tuberculosis (TB) Risk Assessment.
July-August 2025
New Student Orientation.
August 20, 2025
Fall semester begins.
August 2025
Move-in for first-year students.
August 2025
Welcome Week.
August 2025
New Student and Family Convocation.
