Once you complete and submit your Cal State Apply application, changes or corrections cannot be made to your application. The Office of Admissions will not accept any changes or corrections once the application is submitted.
Within two weeks of submitting your Cal State Apply application, you will receive an email from San Diego State University that includes your SDSUid. Your SDSUid is an identifier to securely access many campus IT services, including my.SDSU, the official online portal for student admissions, student records, financial aid, tuition and fee payment, and more. Please follow the instructions provided in the email to activate your SDSUid account.
Visit my.SDSU and select my.SDSU Login. Enter your SDSUid and password, and select Sign In to log in to my.SDSU.
Next Steps
- Keep your email address updated in my.SDSU, as email is SDSU's official form of student communication. It is recommended that you check your email account regularly.
- Use the Profile tile to review and update your contact information, if needed.
- Track Your Status in my.SDSU
- Use the Admissions tile to check the status of your application.
- Use the Tasks tile to review any checklist items (To Do’s) you need to complete.
- Dance, music, musical theatre, and theatre arts-performance applicants will receive an email with further instructions from the department regarding the audition requirement.
- Notices of admission will be emailed to you. Fall first-year and transfer applicants will be notified in the spring.

Applicants
Keep Your Grades Up!
Admission is based on self-reported information from your Cal State Apply application. Once you are provisionally admitted, we will verify this information against your official transcript(s).
Your admission may be rescinded for the following reasons:
- Your GPA or course grades are lower than what you reported on the application.
- You earned D or F grades and did not maintain your GPA.
- You missed any admission deadlines.
- You misreported or did not complete a required course.
How Long Will it Take to Process My Documents?
Allow up to three weeks for processing after documents have been sent to SDSU. The status of documents and test scores will be updated in my.SDSU after they are received and evaluated by the Office of Admissions.
- If you applied for fall 2025, update your academic course information, including additional colleges attended, courses completed with final grades, courses planned or in progress, and courses fulfilling prerequisites. Submit the mandatory Academic History Update on the Cal State Apply website in January 2025.
- If you applied to a major with special instructions:
- Dance; music; musical theatre; television, film, and new media: production; and theatre arts: performance applicants will receive an email with further instructions from the department regarding audition or application requirements.
- Upper-division nursing transfers and second bachelor's in nursing applicants for fall 2025 admission must also complete the mandatory Academic History Update and answer specific nursing questions, including course prerequisites, in January 2025.

- You did not update your course information and submit the mandatory Academic History Update on the Cal State Apply website.
- Your GPA or course grades are lower than what you reported on the application.
- You missed any admission deadlines.
- You earned D or F grades.
- You misreported or did not complete a required course.
- You misreported earning an Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) similar to your intended major by summer 2024 for spring 2025 admission or spring 2025 for fall 2025 admission.
- You did not complete 60 transferable semester (or 90 transferable quarter) units by the end of summer 2024 for spring 2025 admission or spring 2025 for fall 2025 admission.
