Presidential Scholars Program

The Presidential Scholars program is for high achieving students who have a commitment to serve their communities and exude leadership qualities that will contribute to San Diego State University’s (SDSU) vibrant community. This invitation-only program was created to provide resources and unique experiences to a select group of students who showcase special attributes and leadership skills.

As a Presidential Scholar, you will have special access to mentoring, networking, advising, and more. Additionally, if selected to the Presidential Scholars Program recipients are eligible for a scholarship worth up to $40,000 over four years. The scholarship application is available by invitation only and you will be notified if you have been selected to apply for the program. Please note that applying to SDSU or for the Presidential Scholars program does not bind you to attend SDSU.

The Presidential Scholars Program offers a unique opportunity to enhance your collegiate experience. We look forward to welcoming our new Presidential Scholars to this special community and seeing the lasting impact they make at SDSU.

I've realized the best way to learn is through experience. I really value all of the classes that I am taking, and I’ve already gotten involved in a lot of opportunities on campus: Presidential Scholars, Henrietta Goodwin Scholars, The Daily Aztec, the National Association of Black Journalists, and I'm an R.A. There’s so much you can get involved in here!
