SDSU Merit Scholars

Taking Your Excellence to a New Level

The SDSU Merit Scholarship is one of San Diego State University's most prestigious and selective scholarships available only to a very select number of local SDSU admitted students. Academic performance and high school coursework rigor are used to determine which first-year admitted students are selected to apply for the SDSU Merit Scholarship.

Apply for the Merit Scholarship

If eligible for the SDSU Merit Scholarship, you will receive an email with a link to apply for the SDSU Merit Scholarship, which is by invitation only. Do not share this link with others. Please contact us at [email protected] with any questions and/or concerns.

The application deadline is February 14, 2025.

Determine the Right Fit

We work one-on-one with Merit Scholars and their families to answer their questions and help them to determine if San Diego State University is the right fit.

The honors program builds upon SDSU's commitment to educate students for a global world. The program provides a distinctive learning community for students who seek creative, innovative, and responsible ways to understand and engage the international community. Students in the honors program benefit from small, discussion-based classes, one-on-one time with their professors, Honors housing, and the ability to study abroad for whatever length of time suits their schedule!
