SDSU Transfer Pathways

Which Pathway?

  1. Select the major you are going to pursue.
  2. Be aware of majors with special instructions. These majors require additional steps in the application process.
  3. Determine which pathway is available for your major.
  4. Learn about the pathway you will follow.

Pathways

Applicants who earn an Associate in Arts for Transfer or an Associate in Science for Transfer degree (AA-T/AS-T) in one of the SDSU-approved majors and apply to the appropriate Cal State Apply program/major will be given admission priority.

Applicants using the ADT pathway for admission may be within .1 of the grade point average (GPA) required by the major to which they are applying. However, a higher GPA may be required. Applicants must follow all required enrollment steps by the deadlines.

AA-T/AS-T Major Selection and Degree Verification

If you have completed or are in progress to complete an Associate Degree for Transfer (AA-T/AS-T) degree, you must complete the following steps in order to receive priority consideration.

Spring 2025

Step 1: Apply to the SDSU Major Equivalent to your AA-T/AS-T Degree by August 31, 2024
  • Select appropriate ADT major on Cal State Apply.
Step 2: Submit Final Verification of your AA-T or AS-T Degree by October 31, 2024

ADT final verifications must be in the form of an official community college transcript.

  • Official Transcript – Your California community college sends an official transcript to SDSU with your awarded ADT degree information including degree type, major name and graduation date.
    • SDSU will accept only electronic transcripts from the schools listed on the Transcripts page. Please ensure that you indicate this preference when making your request.
    • For colleges that do not supply electronic transcripts, the school should send the transcripts (received no later than October 31, 2024) directly to:
      • Office of Admissions
        San Diego State University
        5500 Campanile Drive
        San Diego, CA 92182-7455

Fall 2025

Step 1: Apply to the SDSU Major Equivalent to your AA-T/AS-T Degree by December 2, 2024
  • Select appropriate ADT major on Cal State Apply.
Step 2: Update Academic Course Information and Submit Mandatory Academic History Update
  • Update your academic course information to be considered for admission.
  • Update your transfer coursework in January by entering your fall grades and listing the courses that you are enrolled in for the spring semester.
  • Submit the mandatory Academic History Update on Cal State Apply.
Step 3: ADT Verification Submitted by your California Community College using one of the following three options:
  • eVerify – Your California community college confirms you earned or will earn your ADT by spring 2025 using the CSU Associate Degree for Transfer eVerification website. Note: The eVerify website is for California community college staff to identify a CSU applicant's preliminary ADT degree status. Applicants/students do not have access to the eVerification website. This website is reserved for California community college updates.
    • For colleges that do not supply electronic transcripts, the school should send the transcripts (received no later than March 14, 2025) directly to:

      Office of Admissions
      San Diego State University
      5500 Campanile Drive
      San Diego, CA 92182-7455

  • Verification of Intent to Earn Associate of Arts/Science Degree-Transfer Form – Your California community college confirms you earned or will earn your ADT by spring 2025 for fall 2025 admission using the Verification of Intent to Earn Associate of Arts/Science Degree-Transfer Form.
    • The college should email the completed form (received no later than March 14, 2025 for fall 2025 admission) directly to [email protected].
    • Completed verification forms will only be accepted from authorized representatives from California community colleges. Forms received from students or other third-parties will not be processed.

Contact your California community college if you have any questions about the ADT verification process.

Step 4: Submit Final Verification of your AA-T or AS-T Degree

Final verification that your ADT has been awarded must be included on an official transcript.

  • Official Transcript – Submit a request to have a final transcript sent from your California Community College to SDSU, which includes your awarded ADT degree information, including degree type, major name and graduation date.
    • SDSU will accept only electronic transcripts from the schools listed on the Transcripts page. Please ensure that you indicate this preference when making your request.
    • For colleges that do not supply electronic transcripts, the school should send the transcripts directly to:

      Office of Admissions
      San Diego State University
      5500 Campanile Drive
      San Diego, CA 92182-7455

Note: For many California community colleges, graduation is not automatic upon the completion of all degree requirements. It is often the student's responsibility to submit a graduation application during published time periods. To avoid delays in the evaluation, degree verification and granting of your AA-T or AS-T degree, be sure to contact your community college for information on how and when to submit your graduation application.
